Angus Memorial Pancake Day 2020

This afternoon our annual Angus Memorial Pancake Day competition took place at our London Depot. Now in its sixth year, the competition takes place every Pancake Day to remember our dearly departed friend and colleague Angus Porteous.

This year’s contest saw seven members of staff take to the stage to rustle up a pancake of their choice, which would then be judged on appearance, innovation and taste.

Pancakes from the sales team included: Pip’s Paneer Pancake, Soma’s Jeera Chicken with Coriander, Mark’s Citron Surprise and Surinder’s Rajasthani Pancake, which was the first vegan pancake the competition has seen. The warehouse offerings consisted of Attila’s Secret Apple Pancake, Des’ Cranberry and Pecan Suzette and Bob’s Fruit ‘n’ Cream Pancake.

This year, Des was declared the winner with his scrumptious Cranberry and Pecan Suzette. Des was presented with the winner’s plaque, along with a special food hamper donated by Angus’ father Tom.

Well done everyone that took part and we look forward to next year’s competition, which has promised to be bigger and better!
