Allens provide furniture for relaunch of Nonsuch Mansion
Allens were on hand to provide the equipment for the relaunch of recently refurbished Nonsuch Mansion. The venue has been given a modern, elegant look and newly appointed caterers Bovingdons were relying on Allens to provide fabulous hire items that would instantly reflect and accentuate the new style. Dramatic linens, contemporary glassware and state of the art chairs all played their part in conveying the start of a stylish new chapter in the mansion's history.
This fantastic venue is located thirty minutes from London in Cheam and is set in 300 acres of sumptuous Surrey parkland. It stands close to the site of Henry VIII's infamous Nonsuch Palace, long ruined but never forgotten. The mansion was built in the 1800's as a home to a wealthy family who commissioned visionary architect Jeffrey Wyatt to recreate a "modern echo" of Henry's Palace. Elegant state rooms, striking parapets and stunning gardens all graciously mirror their majestic predecessor. Wyatt's distinctive Tudor Gothic style can also be seen at his masterpiece Windsor Castle. The mansion came into public hands in the 1930's when it became, amoungst other things, a venue for hire and a space in which to celebrate. After a recent period of closure, London caterers Bovingdons were appointed by the Joint Management Committee and Epsom and Ewell Borough Council to take over the contract for the event spaces and bring the mansion back to life.
As you can see, following refurbishments, the venue now enjoys a modern look that accentuates its Georgian period features as well as incorporating a few subtle contemporary twists. The eight event rooms offer a total of 250m² flexible hire space plus rolling lawns suitable for any occasion.
