Here's how to create a tablescape inspired by our favourite gardens at RHS Chelsea

For the first time in its 108-year history, RHS Chelsea Flower Show is being held on 21 – 26 September rather than its usual May slot. Here we’ve delved into some of the highlights that visitors can expect to delight at this year’s show and how to create a table setting inspired by these wonderful gardens.

The Florence Nightingale Garden – A Celebration of Modern Day Nursing

For many designers, their gardens have become even more relevant following the events of the last 18 months. The Florence Nightingale Garden – A Celebration of Modern Day Nursing, designed by Robert Myers, shines a light on the critical role nurses play in modern-day healthcare whilst celebrating the remarkable legacy of Florence Nightingale and the importance of gardens for wellbeing and recovery. For the September show, Robert has adjusted the planting palette so rather than creating a shady garden with woodland plants, the garden will be a bright and vibrant space with colourful late summer perennials.

The Guangzhou Garden: Guangzhou China

Peter Chmiel and Chin-Jung Chen have created a representation of a major Chinese city in The Guangzhou Garden: Guangzhou China. They have drawn inspiration from the forested area of north Guangzhou known as the green lungs of the city, the ‘social heart’ represented by a park in the city’s business district, and the wetlands to the south known as the city’s kidneys.

Recreate the natural beauty of the Guangzhou Garden with green and pastel-shaded tableware.

The Yeo Valley Organic Garden

Back on home soil, The Yeo Valley Organic Garden by Tom Massey and supported by Sarah Mead will bring a slice of the Yeo Valley Farm in Somerset to SW3, inspiring visitors to adopt organic gardening practices and put nature first. The later show date has given them more scope and a greater range of plants they can grow for the garden particularly flowering plants for late summer colour, which will include dahlias, Echinacea and Rudbeckia, some of which are being grown by Sarah at the farm in Somerset.

Focusing on rustic and organic tableware, we have two stunning table setups that beautifully complement the garden of the Yeo Valley.
