• Work from outside in - eg, use the outside knife for the starter and work in for each subsequent course
• Knives on the right, forks left
• Soup spoons on extreme right - but if served as second course place it second in from the right
• Dessert cutlery can be placed at the top - fork faces the right and spoon above it facing left
