Unique ideas for an Easter event

12 Apr 17

Easter parties are becoming more popular in the UK. Sections of the press are declaring the spring time festival the ‘new Christmas’ and Waitrose has announced that the sale of Easter crackers are up 63%. Carolyn Bailey, homes and garden editor at Good Housekeeping, told The Telegraph, “This year we've seen more people buying gifts and decorations for Easter, including crackers which are normally bought for Christmas, but now Easter is becoming like a second Christmas."

So, with this in mind, we have come up with a few unique ideas for you to incorporate into your Easter event.

Easter party ideas for children and families

If you are holding an Easter event for children, keeping them entertained can be one of the most challenging things. For older children, or for something a little different, you could set up a scavenger hunt with clues and riddles, leading to the chocolatey prize, rather than a traditional Easter egg hunt – but maybe make sure there is enough chocolate to go around to keep the discord to a minimum.

As it’s traditional to eat chocolate over Easter, you may want activities that burn off plenty of energy.  Why not have a rabbit race? What is it? Well it's a sack race, with added bunny ears. All you need to do is mark a start and finish line and get the participants to hop to the finish line. Oh, and have a prize of course.

If you are having a big family get together, having an activity that everyone can participate in regardless of age can help to bring everyone together. Easter crafts, such as egg painting and decorating Easter bonnets can be fun for the whole family, especially if it’s raining. Another family friendly game is Easter bingo, printable streets can be found online.

What you need to hire?

If you have lots of family coming round for a grand roast dinner or for an Easter barbeque then you may need some extra supplies, including:

  • Chairs
  • Tables
  • Glasses (wine, cocktail and soft drink glasses)
  • Cups
  • Plates
  • Barbeque (if needed)

At Allens Hire, you can hire all of the above, have them delivered, and you don't even need to wash up!

Easter party ideas for adults

Easter is not just for kids, and why should they have all the fun anyway? If you want to incorporate an activity or two into your event then why not have a cryptic treasure hunt?

Split your guests into teams, hide some cryptic clues or puzzles, ‘crystal maze-style’ around your venue. If you don't want the hassle of coming up with clues, then you can always turn a traditional Easter egg hunt into a cocktail hunt (of course, you wouldn’t leave the cocktails lying around, but perhaps a handy drinks token). Another option to help get your guests stuck in is by challenging them to make their own Easter themed cocktails.

What you need to hire?

Here is your checklist of what you might need to hire for a sophisticated Easter party:

  • Cocktail shakers and strainers
  • Wine glasses
  • Beer glasses
  • Plates (for all those Easter nibbles)
  • Canape plates
  • Chairs
  • Tables
