How many people can you seat at a table?

25 Aug 10 By: Lene McGuinness

Our tables come in all sorts of shapes and sizes and there could be any number of guests to fit into a designated space.  So how do you decide what configuration to go for?  Whether it's your front room, a marquee or a venue that you're hiring we can advise you on the size and shape of your space and how to seat the required number of guests into a set area.

However, we can give you a couple of quick tips on how many guests will fit to a given sized table:  A very popular sized table is the standard 6ft x 2ft6" trestle.  We reckon that you can fit 1 person for every 2ft.  This means that on this table you could fit 3 people on either side.

However to fit 6 people comfortably and be able to accommodate condiments and table decorations we would recommend a 6ft x 3ft table or even a 6ft x 4ft table depending on the space that people have available.

Many companies will stock the standard trestle tables but we stock a lot of the 6ft x 3ft and 6ft x 4ft tables as well.

A lot of companies will also stock the standard sized round tables and make a recommendation of 6 people to a 4ft round, 10 people to a 5ft round and 12 people to a 6ft round.  However we stock some inbetween sizes as well, like a 5ft6" round, which we would recommend would fit 10 people more comfortably. We often hire these out for our clients whereas a smaller supplier would not even stock them.

Our sales assistants are happy to advise on what you will be able to fit in the space you have available.
